Potterton manufacture upwards of 50 boilers in combination (‘combi’), conventional and system models. Its boilers range in size from 12kW up to 40kW, to meet the heating and hot water needs of different sized homes.

The price of Potterton boilers ranges from around £1,600 to over £4,500, depending on their size. As a rule of thumb, the bigger the boiler, the more it will cost.

The table below shows you the size and price range of the combi, conventional and system boilers produced by Potterton:

Boiler Type Size (kW) Price Range
Combi 24 to 40 £2,700 to £3,650
Conventional 12 to 30 £2,700 to £3,200
System 12 to 32 £3,580 to £4,740

The prices above are for the cost of the boiler itself and don’t include installation costs. Boiler installation typically costs anywhere from £500 to £2,500, depending on the complexity of the job. For example, if you’re replacing a system boiler with a combi boiler, or are moving the location of your boiler from your kitchen into your utility room, the price of the installation will increase. What size Potterton boiler do you need?

The size of boiler you’ll need for your home will depend on a number of factors, including the number of radiators, taps and bathrooms your property has. As a rough guide, you’ll need:

  • For a home with 1 bathroom and up to 10 radiators: 24kW to 27kW
  • For a home with 1 or 2 bathrooms and up to 15 radiators: 28kW to 34kW
  • For a home with 2 or more bathrooms and up to 20 radiators: 35kW to 42kW

A combination or ‘combi’ boiler heats water directly from the mains when you turn on a tap or switch on the central heating. This means that, unlike a conventional or system boiler, you don’t need a separate hot water cylinder or cold water tank stored in your loft or the upper levels of your home.

Potterton makes a range of combi boilers that start from £2,700 and increase to £3,650. Its combi boilers come in the Assure, Gold, Promax, Promax Ultra and Titanium models.

The table below compares the cost of some of Potterton’s most popular combi boilers, as well as their size, energy efficiency and the warranty period. This table doesn’t take installation costs into account.

Model Size (kW) Efficiency Standard Warranty Price
Assure 25 Combi 25 93% 2 years £700
Assure 30 Combi 30 93% 2 years £785
Gold 28 Combi ErP 28 88.6% 2 years £680

Promax 24 Combi ErP 24 89% 2 years £835
Promax Ultra 24 Combi ErP 24 89.1% 2 years £1,350
Titanium 28 Combi ErP 28 91.1% 7 years £800

Also known as a heat-only or regular boiler, a conventional boiler needs both a hot water cylinder and a cold water tank to feed hot water to your radiators and taps. These will both need to be stored in your loft or the upper levels of your home.

Potterton conventional boilers come in the Assure, Promax, Titanium and Ultra models, and range in price between £2,700 and £3,200.

The table below shows you the price of different Potterton conventional boilers, as well as their size, energy efficiency and the warranty period. This table doesn’t take installation costs into account.

Ultra 21 Heat 21 89.2% 2 years £1,100
Ultra 24 Heat 24 89.2% 2 years £1,230

When you switch on your central heating, a system boiler heats water directly from the mains. However, the water will need to be pumped through a hot water cylinder when your turn on a hot water tap or shower. This cylinder will need to be stored in your loft or the upper levels of your house.

Potterton’s range of system boilers come in the Assure, Gold, Promax and Ultra models, and cost between £2,580 and £4,740.
