Pauric is Installation Manager at Geo Green Power, one of the UK’s leading renewable energy installers for commercial premises. Geo Green Power’s aim is to help businesses and homeowners across the UK take control of their energy, save money and reduce emissions.

In this episode, we talk to Pauric about the reasons why a business should consider getting solar panels installed.

As he explained: “The main one is reducing your energy bills, quite significantly by up to 50% in some cases.”

As there is no energy price cap for businesses, rising energy costs are a key motivating factor for many businesses to invest in solar panels. There is also the possibility for businesses to earn money back from the energy their solar panels export back to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG).

We also talk about how the government has a massive part to play in solar installations, especially when it comes to upgrading the National Grid, and what some of the barriers to commercial solar installations might be, including planning applications, local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) restrictions and costs.

Solar panel installations aren’t just limited to your typical home or business either. Pauric spoke to us about how they’ve installed solar panels on agricultural buildings, manufacturing warehouses, offices and student flats.
