Wondrwall has unveiled an AI-powered all-in-one battery and intelligent EV charger system that it says customers can use 100% of the renewable energy their home generates.
According to Wondrwall, the new technology represents the “next generation of energy storage” and will offer homeowners significant performance and cost-saving benefits, such as shorter installation times.
The all-in-one battery and solar inverter technology has a long-life and is scalable to a capacity of more than 25 kilowatts per hour (kWh).
The renewable energy system’s accompanying intelligent electric vehicle (EV) charger is slightly larger than an A5 notepad. The charger is untethered and available in 7kWh and 22kWh options.
Fully integrated with Wondrwall HEMS, the charger is tariff-aware and allows users to not only charge with free solar energy, but also negatively price electricity for users on certain time-of-use tariffs.
For ease, Mark Lufkin, Wondrwall Group CPO, said the charging is handled through one consistent UI in the Wondrwall app, and additional features include innovative fingerprint-enabled technology.
He added that the unveiling of both products marks a “significant milestone” for the sector and that they can be installed in “most UK new builds, alongside in-roof mounted solar PV” with “zero upfront cost to housebuilders”.
Both products offer safe, high-power charging options, longer battery life, a modular design for easy expansion and quick installation. Both units are also IP rated for external installation and to protect from dust and rain.
“With our AI-powered air source heat pump unveiled last month redefining what the industry perceives to be possible for low-carbon heating efficiency, we believe these next two products represent the next generation of residential energy storage,” Lufkin said.
Wondrwall’s Home Energy Management System both products are integrated with are able to utilise 20,000 separate data points, including weather forecasts, to anticipate needs and reduce costs automatically.
The system also has the ability to charge cars and home batteries when prices are at their lowest or even negatively priced. It also automatically sells electricity back to the grid for the highest possible price when users have a surplus.
